REINFORCEMENT OF THE WATER SUPPLY SYSTEM TO AMBUÍLA

The Ministry of Energy and Water - National Directorate of Water (DNA), promoted the elaboration of the project to reinforce the water supply system to the town of Ambuíla, Uíge province. The contractual model is the Conception and Construction of the systems of capture, adduction, treatment and public and domiciliary distribution.
The project aimed to supply water to the urban and periurban zone of Ambuíla, namely the Matoio, Sanzala, Pete, Sembo and Nova Centralidade districts, as well as the new hospital under construction on the periphery. The origin of the water will be an existing water collection in a watercourse in the Serra da Cananga.
Population of the area under study (Year 20): 5.000 inhabitants
The physical infrastructure of the system studied and designed involved the following main works:

• Gravity adductor line Ø110 FFD / PEAD PN16: 6 km
• Water distribution pipes Ø63 to Ø160 PEAD PN10: 5 km
• High water reservoir, in reinforced concrete: 140 m³, 15m 
• Water treatment system
