REVIEW OF LAND PLANNING LEGISLATION

Urban and Regional planning

The current Land Use Planning legislation, approved in 2006 and 2007, includes several legal instruments that establish the main guidelines on land management in Mozambique: Land Use Planning Policy, Law and Regulation.
After 15 years of implementation, several aspects have proven to be inadequate, requiring adjustments and improvements to respond to the country's current socioeconomic situation and concerns about safeguarding the public interest.
An important aspect of the project is the creation of conditions for the broadest possible public participation. To this end, a dedicated website and a detailed program were created for dissemination through traditional media, social networks, etc. Sessions were also held in all provincial capitals.
